in the end

I think they used a fairly broad selection of topics and ideas to explore that will give us a leg up on all the new technology...sometimes frustrating when programs wouldn't work but I perservered and made it woo hoo

netlibrary

already familiar with this...don't have much time to listen to audio books..makes it harder for me if I have to stop and start..live right in same town as I work...nice if I had a long commute or was going on vacation.

pod cast

can be very helpful as a learning tool...some peoplelearn better visually. only thing I found neg. is that some of the podcast are out dated because they had time specific material..while some regardless of age could still be useful ..tried to add to bloglines and said no rss feed..so here's the link.

http://www.podcast.net/show/26305

you tube

familiar with you tube..cool cause you can find just about anything you want..but there in lies its drawback as well if you have little ones to monitor

web 2.0

I liked the short list..looked at yelp...this would be convenient when your traveling to a place you've never been..seems more detailed than other similar sites I've used

online apps

liked that you can create documents and share..doesn't matter what format it's in...convenient for everybody..also good for business spreadsheets..charts..idea sharing with other homeschool moms

sand box wiki

neat cause you can share fun stuff with people/friends

wiki

already familiar with wiki..use it for latest thing that I may not know or understand...always current and never out of date.good way to keep library terms or ideas up to date..could be used by libraries all over the country.

library/web 2.0

thought it was an interesting perspective that we are the one's teaching the computer..hadn't really thought about it that way until I watched the movie

technorati

wasn't surprised that youtube and myspace were favs. ..was surprised that britney spears was on the list..didn't think that many people cared..there are also things on the list that are popular elsewhere and I had no idea what or who they were..can give me insight in to what else go s on in the world without a filter

delicious

good for further sorting..nice because it is already pre-sorted for me..I can get a specific as I want to..again saves me alot of time than having to wade through everything...good for sorting books that people may have read as a search tool if your looking for specific genre etc.

rolly-o

liked this beacuse i can make my own search engine..that way i don't have to sift through thousands of results..it will only pull up sources that i have designated as ok and i know the web sites are safe since i've visited them..also good as a parental block tool.

library thing

I liked the fact that you could find out what interests you share with other people...also that you could keep track of what you read this way

online image generator

neat if you have a camera to put photos together/ could make up awards for my kids since we are home schooling them..also found out what an avatar is

merlin

Liked this because it was all library specific..if you need library info their it is in a nice package with a big red bow...also browsed feedster..found out what a widget is(thanks wikipedia) and what it does

rss feed

liked this because all I have to read is what I like and it gives me a preview just in case iI still don't want to read it...time saver for a busy mom who wants to stay on top of things. the quick pick feed didn't work the first 2 times I tried to access them

technology

I like the being able to do my own website....i can advertise for the business with no real cost

mashup

got another error message...a bx-9z85b6..like that means anything..they want you to also send them an email with a code number so tiny and long I couldn;t even read it...so much for helping them correct the problem..I'd say I'd blog to vent about it put I can't get one to post...shozu looks like something i'd like to explore..maybe later when things are working better.

also very cool if I hadn't done it once already...lets see if I can get it to work..this is the place that it died the other day

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

blog...blogs..and more blogs

thought this would be very cool...it was until I had to do it over again all the way up to step four including some of the passwords and logins...I had posted 3 blogs already and had problems posting my fourth blog..got error messages...when I went back the next day it did not recognize my blog address/and the blog url that I had put in was available again for use....hope it gets better very frustrating but no one else I talked to had this problem
